many of the places you may stay are "owned" in some way by individuals who have agreements with management groups at the property.
This is becoming more prevelant as developers seek to recoup their building costs early in the piece, whilst at the same time benefitting from a share of the income generated after completion.
A lot of the time, you will not even know, and the clues may just be a few personalised touches that the "owners" have done themselves.
New developments of this type are appearing all over, in Jalan Mejapahit, Sunset Rd, Jalan Nalakula, Jalan Raya Kuta, Jalan Pantai Kuta just to name a few.
Kuta Townhouses, although not timeshare, is an example of "owned" (leased) apartments some of which are available for rent.
