It was absolutely amazing to see six fire engines racing to put out the fire and then racing off again to fill up with water. Fortunately the traffic wasn't as much or as jammed as it often is - but it was still a pretty impressive feat on the part of the truck drivers. Can you imagine trucks driving down Melasti Street in the opposite direction to the normal flow of the one-way traffic. And racing back and forth along Garlic Lane. It was a hot and windy day, so the fire brigade did a terrific job to contain the destruction. With the wind, it could have been so much more destructive to the nearby businesses.
