Thanks for all you input. One thing I forgot to mention was that the prices quoted were not 'walk in off the street rates' as these prices relate to a specific bungalow and we have stayed at the Inna 8 times previously so we get rates even travel agents can't get. It is the fact that the rates have gone up more than 50% (the now so called deluxe rooms have risen by 90%)in 2 months and I don't think they will stop there. As far as comparing $US exchange rate we are getting less now (86.5c)than in July (96c)so the cost to Australians is actually more.
I think this rate rise will spread across all hotels in Bali making the family holiday harder to strech out for lengthy stays.
