I live in Ballina (30km) from Byron and we fly out of Ballina Airport with Virgin at 11:15am into Sydney by 12:30pm transfer from the domestic terminal to the International terminal by rail(one stop $9:40 pensioner discount or catch a cab $25).
We then wait at the terminal until the Jetstar flight at 5:45pm and arrive in Bali at 10pm Bali time.
She can fly Garuda from Sydney but she would have to spend overnight in Sydney because Garuda leaves at 10am and it is very difficult to get a flight to Sydney early enough to the you to the airport 3 hours prior to the flight.
Coming home the Jetstar flight gets in to at 7:00 am we then catch the train back to the domestic terminal (one stop)and catch the Virgin flight 9:50am back to Ballina and home by 11am.
