Sanur vs. Seminyak

The Mrs and I are headed to Bali (1st time) next week. Already have some time in Ubud and Amed booked, but would like to start either in Sanur or Seminyak. Having a little trouble deciding!? Can anyone help? We're 30, no kids, midrange travellers....looking for good food, nice beach, etc. I've heard sanur's pretty quiet, and Seminyak's turning into the new Kuta, any truth to this?
