I have been to Jakarta many times. It is not a tourist spot, but it is worth at least two days.
Check out the Monas monument near the Borrobodur Hotel. Visit the Tanjung Priok wharf to see the large sailing prahus. Shop at the very large shopping malls to escape the heat and traffic.
I normally stay at the Borrobodur Hotel which has acres of spacious grounds. If you book through the small booths at arrivals at Jakarta Airport such as KAHA, you can get a room for about $A85 per night.
