Money changers will try to scam. They usually have 2 guys so one distracts you, but if you also go with someone this helps. They try to use small notes.If you are on the ball they won't scam. I reckon it's easier to change most of your money before you go and keep it in hotel safe and just use ATMs and credit cards, though I only used credit cards in big places like Ku de Ta, Bodyworks, not small shops.
