Monday morning was breakfast at Bali cares again. Great menu here heaps to choose from. Raining like mad so wet as shags. Who cares.. that's Bali. A slow, fat, wet waddle back. Champlung Sari was inundated with it's morning crew of monkeys. One was naughty enough to try and steal my bag. Had news for him, I growl back! Packed ready for pick up and realized that only four days into our holiday we were definitely over our weight. No more shopping you say. Not likely!! Just have to find a post office.
Paid the bill then off to Legian and K.P. Love it there too. Had the funniest driver between hotels and the hour long drive flew past. Once settled in our junior suite , you guessed it...lunch. Room service. Now in Ubud L had discovered creme brule, and guess what happened to be on the menu? Number two down the hatch.
We had all decided to get some leather jackets, boots, and fabric skirts, jackets and some shirts for hubbie, so off to the tailor. First stop is sexy man..so cute for a look girls. Right across the road from the K.P. Now has a new shop in Padma St as well. His name is Adi and guess what so is his brothers!! Just so you don't get confused.
Next stop Merry's leather for jackets and two large leather bags for L.Had some boots copied there as well. Everyone is just GORGOUS!!How great for the ego. Dolphin was next, more cheerful hellos from the boys. L needed a jacket for her hubbie and had to measure the size by hugging Nyoman... I think he really loves this part as he always measures for hubbies this way. Last on the list French leather. Matt is now an official Aussie as of last week. Woo hoo Matt.. see ya in Yamba!
Dinner was at Surfside and although it has a great rep our meal was a bit of a disappointment in that the chicken was very dry. Nice venue though. Perhaps a bad night..willing to try again before a bad report.
Sat on our huge porch with a nice cocktail and watched the fireworks which happened every night as if to end a perfect day.
Tuesday started with heavy rain so off to carrefore to stock up on some cosmetics. M and I don't use much but L has two teenage daughters and thought she had found heaven. Hit the credit cards here. Really don't like shopping centres much in Bali as I can do all that at home but skin care products are so much cheaper. Caught a taxi to centro to finish off. Big mistake
Outside the shopping centre tourists are immediately pounce on by men in yellow t shirts sticking scratchits under their nose. It is impossible to get past them, and they scratch the damn things for you. M and I won a t shirt and L won the grand prize of perhaps $1000 us dollars. This is where things get tricky.
To get your prize, which has NEVER been won in the whole year these guys have worked, you have to go just up the road to their hotel. L was overjoyed and went along happily with M to get her prize. I parted company and said "no way" to the shock and horror of the men in yellow. Up the road was to Nusa Dua and a fancy hotel. The girls were asked to tell fibs eg. that they were single and that they had an hour to sit and listen to a promo. Time which they already said they did not have. In the end M chucked a spassy and they were taxied back to Kuta. NO $1000 Not even a t shirt. At least they got to see Nusa Dua neither had been before.
The time spent in starbucks was made very difficult for me because direcly opposite, and in full view of my seat, was the most decadent looking bakery of all time. I twiched and drooled for an hour and a half before my empty handed friends saved my life.
After doing the cosmetic thing in centro it was off to Poppies for lunch and a cold drink to soothe our rankled nerves. OOh my.. we just looove poppies.
Feet sore now!! To the new pool at the K.P. The old pool had a broken pump and was decidedly milky green but no problems the new one is lovely and not crowded at all. Drinks at the pool bar...very exotic. Watched the staff bringing in the new beds. Not much to complete the new block now.
Dinner..Zanzibars and an old favourite nasi goreng. The second best in the whole world. The first is now three monkeys in Ubud.
Desert at K.P. and a third brule bites the dust.
Thought I might try my hand at a body scrub which I bought at Bali cares. The girls were sweet enough to endulge me and after rubbing this yellow goop all over their half naked bodies and making them stand still until they dried, I tried to rub it off. Well it looks a lot easier in the spas. I had yellow stuff from one end of the joint to the other and the girls squeeling threats at me amid peels of hysterical laughter. I think they imagined themselves being yellow forever. Good God it was worth it. They had silky smoothe white skin that anyone would have died for. I was however totally exhausted. Next time I wish M would shave her legs to save me from her prickles!! Went to bed smiling.
