several times, we have found that the best and cheapest way is to get a local (either your friend, preferred driver or the lady in the market) to organise a price.
Most suckling pigs are just that... (known as 'suckers' in the trade, ie, a quite young pig still suckling ) so are usually small and about 6 to 8 kg dressed weight.
By getting a local to organise it, you will firstly get to meet a fair few nice people, because you are in fact having a local barbie like at home, and the whole street is invited!!
Secondly, you can have your Babi Guling anywhere you like... we have enjoyed them at Uluwatu, in several villages, and at Lovina on the very beach a famous lady once walked on.
Be careful to ask them to cook it well, and advise if you want it spicy or paint stripping! as they load the stomach cavity with handfuls of lovely stuff.... either way, take plenty of tissues and the camera.. you will love it!
