I always tip similar to what has been suggested. 10,000IDR will give someone a good lunch by local standards or an exercise book for their kid's schooling.
I am always suspicious about whether or not the staff get the "service" charge...
My feeling is that a tip will end up in the local economy which can only be a good thing.
