I take an EFTPOS card and a bundle of cash.
First up use an ATM for cash. Then look around for an "Honest" money changer. ATM's dispense either 1 million Rp or 1.5 million Rp.
Each time it cost me about AUD$5. Look for ATM's that dispense Rp50K notes as sometimes it is hard to change Rp100k notes.
