reading through them, I cannot see where anyone has said too cold to sunbath, It is easy to get suntan (and the assc. skincancer) in Bali. Even when raining it is warm. It is mild and windy currently, it is getting into the cooler season. Most people like it better a bit cooler, easier to walk around and not end up in a puddle of sweat. What I feel is that there is not the humidity usual for this time of year. 27 - 30 degrees would not get me into the water in Perth!!

Balinese are very reluctant to tell people to do specific things (like asking them to be quiet/drink less/cover up) not so reluctant to tell then they have to buy from them lol.

Depending once again where you are staying if you go topless. If you have an apartment you may have a private pool area, then no, fine you are not offending anyone. There are no designated topless areas in Bali and you must think who else you could be offending in the most highly populated Muslim country (yes, Bali is in Indonesia). There could be local tourists visiting if it is a holiday. It is these types of actions that certain people use to explain their over reactions

As far as swimming, yes it is a bit chilly for some, will depend on the heat of the pool also. Lots of people are commenting that it's too cold for them.
