Finally after some encouragement from Tina G, my son's wedding JBR.
This trip we spent 4 weeks in Bali and kerry f, my sister, has outlined our trip in her detailed JBR's. So all that was left to me was to report on the wedding.
March 29 2008. My son married on the beach at Sanur at 4.30pm.
Even though it was overcast it was very hot but we were glad for no rain as it had rained the day before and all day the following.
A Canadian minister celebrated the marriage and the combined contribution from him and the bride and groom made it a truly memorable experience. Even the locals were fascinated as they moved closer to view proceedings.
Such great planning by Annie from Bali Brides had ensured all went to plan.
The bride, five bridesmaids and her mother all stayed at Emerald Villas the night before and said how nice it was. Annie had taken care of hair, makeup, flowers, wedding cake and all catering including babi guling (yum).
Annie was ably assisted by Liz from Spirit Café which was the location for the wedding and reception.
We had 70 guests attend and the tables were beautifully decorated in white with flowers and lanterns adorning the area. The tables had been set up in an alcove area adjoining Spirit Café and there was plenty of staff to ensure all guests were well taken care of.
A roving quartet of musicians played for the evening and were very entertaining.
The Bonbonniere consisted of sandalwood fans and white thongs which were presented in organza bags with name tags. Both the fans and thongs came in very handy during the evening.
Many thanks to Jacqui for her great assistance,I'm sorry we didn't get to meet in person but I do hope you enjoyed the wedding cake.
It was a pleasure to deal with professionals such as Annie and Liz and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending a wedding in Bali, it is truly magical.
