5BU2Bali sounds to me like he wants to do the right thing by a driver who s/he is loyal to and wants to factor in the rising costs of transport - not a bad thing I would have thought given it is clear s/he doesnt want to rip the driver off!
Where exactly in the post did it mention "afford" - never saw any mention of that in 5BU2Bali's post?
Doing homework in advance of a trip is the reason many go onto this forum!
