Day 6
Usual brekky and then down to reception to go to safari park. Right on nine as promised the guy from the tour box arrives, says our street one way so can we walk, ok say us don't mind walking to the end of the street to get in the car. Well we walk down to Kartika plaza to were we thought the car was, but we keep on walking all the way to were the free shuttle bus picks down by Waterbom park. Well he did pick us up and I must say I did not say that the pick up should be in a car, oh well thats Bali for ya.
The safari park was good, big group of school kids enjoying the day out as well and was difficult to get photos without at least one of them in it, I think this park would be more enjoyable for families with kids. I took someones advice (can't remember who it was) and jumped in the back seat of the safari bus, if you can get it that is the place to sit as you get view from sides as well as the big back window. I thought the windows of the bus would have been fixed so they couldn't be lowered, but you could put them down most of the way for clear photo's, not sure how any insurance claim would go if a lion or tiger pounced at the window when it was down tho?
Oh and the shuttle bus was full and very little leg room so if you are tall like me get an aisle seat, I didn't and it took me ten minutes to get the feeling back in my toes. Lunch at the park was good, beef sate and rice and spring rolls 55,000.
DVD shops are opening again, so we got a few more, why not?
Got a sim card from Mataharis 50,000 with 10,000 free credit and got another 25,000 as well, now we can let everyone at home we are still alive and having fun or as my son said "rubbing it in".
Picked up clothes from tailor, shirts, skirts and denim jackets all good with just some alterations to a jacket I took over still to be done, come back in 1 hr so we go to Bagus pub down the road for a couple coldies, a water, nasi goreng and toasted sanga, 67,000.
Some more DVD's from across the road and then back to tailor to pick up clothes, all good. Back to room to watch a movie and into bed.
Day 7
Getting tattoo so went to Mr Dolphin and said to the young girl there i wanted a tatto of Bam-Bam and she started laughing, I tried to explain all about the Flintstones and the 2 kids Pebbles and Bam-Bam but that made her laugh more so I said I would try and get a pic off the net. It took a bit of checking but we finally found an internet place with a color printer, a bit of searching and 15,000rp later and I had my pic, took it back and they would resize it for me and booked in to have tatto done on last day, 600,000.
Wife got her nails done today, 35,000. Then taxi to Carrefour for a look around, not much different to the one in Phuket except for the price checkers on roller blades! Had luch in the food court there, 2 nasi goreng and pineapple juice 50,000.
Dinner at Bamboo Corner again, packed house, ribs (small serve) guacamole, garlic bread, chocolate pancake and 1 large bintang 60,000. Walked home via beach road got 2 kids t/shirts at Mataharis 30,000 each home to movie and sleep.
Day 8
Brekky, as soon as they see us coming the staff get our hot water and cups, and Annie even asks what type of omellette we want and orders it. Dropped in 2 full shopping bags of laundry down the road, 50,000 and will be ready next day, better than bringing it home and doing it. Dropped in 2 films at the Fuji shop across from Mataharis, be ready in 1 hour. Whilst there we seen a very rude Japanese guy abusing one of the staff because she couldn't work out his phone for him! Taxi to Garlic lane and Miss Debbies for 4 pair sunnies, 2 singlets and 2 t/shirts 200,000. Picked up boots from Dolphin Leather and walked to Ye Olde Fookin Pub for lunch, 2 large and 1 small bintang, pie and mash and beef and rice 113,000, taxi home. Bangles are ready, 6 bangles and 1 ring, 250,000. Dinner at the breeze, nasi goreng, spring rolls, brushetta and 2 beers, 80,000. Then next door to Legends for a few more drinks and listen to the Yellow Band, very good band they play about 3 times a week there, Taxi home and sleep.
Day 9
Bekky again, the usual. Starting to wind down, picked up laundry and had a trial pack, not too bad but will finalise tomorrow. Lunch at the Bali Agus, sate beef and rice, nasi goreng, 2 beers and a cocktail 106,000, happy hour here from 1pm to 9pm. Dinner at Legends, toasted club sandwich, sizzling hotplate beef and rice, lots of beer and black russians and a bit of bootscooting after the band finished, 400,000, taxi home.
Last day 10
Last brekky and got some bacon, had to ask for it, of to Mr Dolphin for tattoo, very nice job, he gave me the pics of Pebbles and Bam-Bam but I said he could have them and explained that they are like B/F and G/F and would be nice for couples to have, I have Bam-Bam and wife has Pebbles. Some last minute shopping and then lunch at TJ's, fajitas, cheese nachos, side dish platter and 2 small beers and water 110,000. Checked out of room and dinner at Bamboo Corner, beef sate and rice, guacamole, toasted sanga, pineapple pancake, 2 beers and a water 60,000. taxi from there to pick up luggage and on to airport.

Get to jetstar checkin, only about 8 seats in the area, sitting waiting for checkin to open and see a jetstar lady walking along to people gathered there handing out letter, get ours and they are sorry to inform us that our flight due to leave at 11:50 is now leaving at 4:00 am, bummer. We checked our luggage, I asked about a free upgrade because of the delay but sorry not possible, doesn't hurt to ask tho, we were about 5 kg over and they were going charge us so I just took one bag off and took it as carry on, still can't work that out, ok to carry on but not in hold, it's still going on the plane? Anyway we decided to try the Prada Lounge to wait the for the plane, what a good idea that was, a few drinks, make your own, something to eat, not that great, and comfy chairs to sit in (even a couch to sleep on for me) free internet for 300,000 for 2. Whilst there we were talking to 2 ladies from Sydney, 1 got up to go to the toilet and came running back to say there was a naked lady sitting on the toilet, she went back to see if she was OK, and came back with the news she was meditating, well quite a few girls went to the toilet during the next 45 minutes only to come running out with shocked looks on their faces. Well she finally let out a huge yell at which time the wife went to check on her, only to find her laying across the shower floor in the "birthing position" still naked and apperantly still meditating (she says she is scarred for life now) 5 minutes later she came out dressed and as if everything is normal and this goes on all time eveywhere. Flight left about 4 am, good flight a few empty seats, got into Melb about 11 am and out of the airport by 11:30.
Thats our trip for this year going back next May with others, can't wait, thanks to all who give info on this forum it has been a great help on our 5 trips so far, Sammy and Gee.
