I crashed a bike over there last year and there was no talk of insurance. The repairs were about 400,000 and the damage in a western country would probably have cost around the 5,000,000 mark. In fact, the cost of the bikes is not much brand new, so if you have a really bad accident, you will be more worried about your health than a couple of thousand bucks.
