Hate the late flight home with a vengeance. Now I always pay for the extra night if necessary but am not always charged for it. If we are staying budget then the extra $30 for the room isn't make or break.
I remember once a few years back now, when staying at Bali Mandira, we couldn't get to keep the room after midday so that day we simply checked into a nearby cheaper hotel enjoyed the pool etc etc and left 2.5 hours before the flight.
Maybe that would be the way for you to go? Just check into a small Kuta/Legian hotel and enjoy the day/night. It may even be an enjoyable experience after staying out at Nusa Dua.
However if the cost isn't a factor and they have availability just pay the extra night at the Swiss Belhotel.
Whatever you do have a great time but just don't waste a day in Bali waiting to go to the airport or worse still waiting at the airport.
