We've had some very average flights with qantas especially out of the US. In general the cabin staff have no interest in serving passengers beyond what they have to do. On one occaision about an hour into the flight we had a bulkhead errected immdeiately in front of us so the staff could sleep. (rather than down the back like very other airline). As a consequence we couldn't seen the screen and could only stair at the bulkhead ( about 6-10 inches from our face) for 14/15 hours. Qantas's attitude which we have encoutered a number of times, is plain indifference.
Garuda on the other hand have been excellent. God they even ask if we want another drink on our Bali flights. Otherwise it's go down the back, wake a hostie and get it yourself.
