Took a look at Beach Melati Apartments in April. I liked the apartments but don't think they would be suitable for young children. Stairs of course up to the upper levels and ground floor apartments would be very close to the pool (unfenced of course). No grassed area to play on.
I also looked at the Jayakarta and this place had a lot of grassed areas. I had friends who stayed in the apartments here and said never again as they are too far from the pool. The hotel rooms might suit.
