Day 2
Usual breaky of omelette, chesse also toast and vegemite and coffee purchased from matahari's.Annie one of the staff was here in 2003 and she still remembers us, and of course she had a friend that could assist us in anything we need.
Walked to Janako Tailors and ordered 3 skirts, 4 shirts 2 black denim jackets total cost 1,100,000rp about $129.au.
Had lunch at Ours Restaurant jaffle, garlic bread, pineapple pancake and 2 beers for 110,000. Joined at the table by a guy selling dvds and we were just checking through our list we bought from home and he took the list and with the help of some of the staff in the restaurant went through his dvds and found another 36 for us.
Back to the hotel for a swim, have the whole pool to ourselves.
Hubby had another nanna nap, must be the heat or maybe the bintang lol. I started to make a coffee, there was about 2 inches of water in jug, enough for 1 cuppa thinks me. Except I forgot the element is very high up and smoke began to pour out. Oh well hubby will have fun with this accident lol.
Went out to Jensens for dinner, a few more people around, we had garlic bread, spring rolls, mia goreng with drinks for 103,000rp.
Hit a few more dvd shops then off to bed.
Day 3
Breakfast, Annie is now ordering our eggs and toast as we arrive and fetches the hot water and milk for our coffee, so cute.
Off to Galleria, raining buckets today, we purchased another kettle but it leaks a little, but still works. Had chips and wedges in the galleria for lunch, just a snack so we could hit J.co donuts, yummo.
Flowers placed everywhere in the room on our pillows and fancy arrangements on the hand towels, beautiful. Ordered 6 bracelets from Annies friends, slightly better quality, than the street bangles.
Decided to do our own little pub crawl today. Went to The Pub, for a few, wedding on here so place was packed out. Sat at the bar and chatted with another aussie as we watched the japanese wedding guests. Walked on to Bamboo Corner and had dinner and drinks. Then hit another hotel on the beach for a couple more beers and listened to Bryan Adams as the waves rolled in, perfect.
Day 4
Breakfast good as usual, then caught a taxi to melasti street and walked up to Dolphin leather to get white western boots made.Also needed an adjustment to a leather belt, this they did for free.
Lady across the road wants to paint my nails, might get them done on the last day, now she calls out to us each time we pass, the people are so sweet. The boots cost $50au all leather.
Lunch at Indo National, nasi goreng 25,000rp 2 beers and a pizza was 60,000. The pizza was undercooked, so they offered to make me something else, but i didnt really want anything else, the beer filled me up, so no charge was made for the pizza.
Visited Ketuts and bought a ford shirt and a harley shirt for 100,000rp, and some basic t-shirts for 30,000 rp. Also went to Doggy tails, they had some cute jumpers for 45,000rp about $5.00au.
Back to our room to find a baby screaming, poor little things screamed for hours. We arranged to change rooms tomorrow, staff was very helpful.
Dinner at Mades Warung, curry beef and toasted sandwich with beers 100,000rp.
Dvd shops are shut everywhere, glad we have purchased most of ours already, must be a raid on. Suggest you buy your dvds early, just in case this happens again.Back to room to watch a few movies with a friendly skink joining us in our room.
Day 5
Walked to Centro and had ice latte at Starbucks then fries and a waffle at A & W, huge waffle. Checked out the Bali Garden Hotel for our next holiday, staff showed us through the rooms, lovely. Pools looks great and chatted with a few aussies. Also looked at the Dnyasty, still alot of work at the front, but has a side entrance to lobby, a bit of a mess at the moment.
Called in at Jenny's for a few more gifts then back to hotel to unpack in our new room 221. Which by the way was our room in 2003. TV works better in this room ,we get to watch hbo movies and the discovery channel. Couldnt get the reception in the other room.
DVD shops still closed today, so we booked the Safari Park, $25.us and picked up at hotel. Another dip in the pool by ourselves then off to dinner at TJ's in poppies 1. Frajitas, chilli con carne baskets and beer for 105,000rp delicious meal and beautiful setting.
Drinks at the Beach House Pub and then a couple more in Legends, taxi back to hotel 20,000rp.
