in Bali at present. I came home very sick, upper respitory infection, asthma, aching, sore eyes etc. I was bedridden literally for 2 weeks, still not 100% 5 weeks later.
If he has earache or other symptoms that are more than just fluey, definitely see a doctor for some anti bios maybe.
It's affecting about 80% of travellers unfortunately and the planes must be riddled with viruses :) :)
