Point Form JBR of our 12 day trip.
Left Perth on Garuda on time 6th May,flight good.
Arrived at Melasti Beach Resort after mixed reports.
We had a group of 5 families plus kids and secured the 6 room block with rooms 111-312 which suited us perfectly.Many guests throughout kept saying you have our room so i expect we did well getting these.
Breakfast ok which kept kids happy.
Restaurants we ate at;
Ocean Beach-only opened 2 weeks,great location near Poppies Lane 2 on the beach but food only average.
Bubba Gumps-always great and the food and atmosphere brilliant,we had a table of 24 and we again were impressed.
Bali Mandira-beach resaurant has great spring rolls.
Ilfori-Next door to Waterbom Park very nice italian.
Seaside Cafe-Ate there twice and was very good.
Yutz-great steak as i have mentioned,friends had battered mushrooms that they raved over.
Beach Shack-New restaurant next door to Legends in Garlic Lane,Aussie chick Robby runs this and the food is very good.
Bali Rock-Wifes 40th Bash was here and was very good.
Bagus Pub-good lunchtime pit stop
Bali Deli-Nice lunchtime rolls and stock up on supplies like cheeses and olives etc.
Ours-good lunchtime menu.
We did the Safari Park-very good even though daughter number 2 was sick after the trip there and we wheeeled her around in a wheelchair for the day.Still had fun.
Waterbom-kids had great fun but after 20 visits there i am over it.
Golf at Bali Handara-booked through John again and had a great day.Would recommend this to anyone back home.Hotel pickup,Club Hire,Buggy,Caddy and beers for trip back $130US.Great value in my opinion.
Caught up with Bloodyron and Pete in Sanur at the Bonsai Cafe one afternoon.Great blokes and a wealth of information.
Sammy and Suzies most afternoons for a sunset drink.One day i went down with all of our crew-one of the biggest days i have seen at Sammy's,maybe 50 to 60 people,needless to say his smile was as wide as it can go.
Bali Hai beach sellers go beserk when me and my mate Ed go and see them.Work has commenced on reserecting the Bali Hai and should be open again by Jan 2009,remember Bali Time so could be Jan 2010.
We did get around on the back of motorbikes more often this trip,cheap and quicker way to get from A to B and had no probs.
In all another great trip and the Wife had a huge 40th with many of our friends.The kids also enjoyed themselves and loved going dowb to Sammys bar and getting pampered each day.
Planning is underway for the next trip.
