you might like to consider Air Asia out of the Gold Coast via KL for future trips. Need to spend a night in KL before forward trip to Bali but there's no real pain in that!! Based in Brissie it's a great option. You're right - via Sydney has been one of the only options for us in the past. I'm heading back in November and all up cost with additional night in KL less than $560.00!! Take a look at the Bali Rani in Tuban for accommodation in your price range. Smaller hotel but great atmosphere, nice rooms and pool area and really close to everything. Have fun, might see you there!!
