- I've decided it is cheapest to pay in US$. The reason seems to be that foreign currencies presented at Indonesian Immigration are converted into US$ at a less than good rate and then the change due is converted into Indonesian rupiah at a less than good rate also.
Having to provide 7 lots this trip I was more than pleased to find that our local American Express office would sell me US$'s without any fees because I have an Australian Seniors Card. :-))
