What I have been told is that because the kids swim all the time and there is always water in the ear and with the hot tempurature it is a good breeding ground for germs. If you put Aqua Ear in after every swim it dries the ears out.We havnt had a problem with ears ever since using Aqua Ear put it on your must take list Happy Holiday
