when we were in Bali in April I went to the safari park and rode an elephant, I was worried because both my husband and I were on the same elephant. I asked the guy who sits on the front of the elephant with you and directs him how much weight can they take and he said 1 tonne. hope this is helps :-). cheers Cathy
