i'd get your boards before you leave. Because of the warm water you're looking at a polypro core and stringer as a minimum, id say. i haven't seen any boards fitting that description over here. Most of the boards for sale over here are Mantas (or similar) and tend to be at the beginner/mid price points. (ie no stringer). it also worth considering taking at least 1 board with an extra 1" - you'll be glad of this considering the size and power of the waves at times. (i could stir and say "especially coming from QLD..." but i wont.)
