Your bag very quickly passes through the scanner, but if i was you for peace of mind think about one of those travelling wallets that you hang around your neck inside your clothing. Keeping 'all' of your spending money in hand luggage doesnt sound like a great idea.
I have never worried about hand luggage security as I am always digging into it and then they may want a look anyway.
