Just a suggestion - I stuck some velcro on the inside (side closest to your body) and some on an old wallet that I had (you can glue or sew it) and then placed my wallet onto the velcro. I felt safer knowing that the pickpockets had to wade through towels, water bottles etc before they got to the wallet. Bit safer I think than a bumbag that can be cut off quickly.
