Hi Bart
you can organize snorkelling through your hotel. We stayed at Taman Sari last year which is owned by the same people as Amertha. They charged 250,000 each which included equipment hire, transport to Labuhan Lalang , boat to Menjangan and a lunch pack. We left the hotel at 9 am and got back around 2.30.
The snorkelling was fantastic, particularly on the eastern end of the island, tons of coral and fish, not to mention the ledge. A drop off of around 30 meters, absolutely brlliant, you'll love it.
Sari Amertha looks great also, right on the beach and the menu is the same as where we stayed, excellent.
Aparently the food at Pondok Sari, next door is very good too.
Take a walk left out of your hotel to the end of the beach, then head left to a track which leads to steps to the top of the hill to see the sunset over Java.
We can't wait to get back there again.
Cheers
Rodger
