A great new Indian Restuaant in main street Sanur, South end. Taken there by Haaris the Sillyporean Cyber-Meister and enjoyed a good meal A highlight was a Junior Barong Troupe who performed for us outside; well worth it to listen and watch the skills of these juniors perpetuating the legends of their ancestors..

Silver Chains. These are hard to find in male sizes like 75cm or more. In order to hang my wife's gift of an "OM" around my not very slim neck, we had to search a bit until we found the first bead shop, on the left as you enter Bintang Supermarket car-park. They have about 8 rolls in various weights and sell by the Metre; ours was RP16,4000 per gramme and well worth the service which included attaching the clip, even adding a little super-glue to be sure to be sure, having viewed my un-Bali-like neck.

"Two Islands" Chardonnay. Introduced by Haaris to this Bali Drop, we were delighted to find it on the shelf, at Alas Arum next door to Bintang, with a cold one even for RP110,000. Chardonnay is usually on the dry side for me, more Marie's drop but this one had a lovely fruity taste as well as the cleansing properties of the usua.
N.B. FILO. A great amount of reds from OZ and elsewhere, at reasonable prices for a poor old chalkie.

Bali Studies.
It has been hard indeed to find a good Basa Bali/ Bahasa Ingerris and the reverse Dictionary, for a long time. The last effort we bought was by the late Fr Shadeg R.I.P. but they chose to not print the Vowels or only just a few. However, Bali Post, Jl. Kepundung, DPSR near the Bird market has now entered the fray with an excellent publication @ RP120,000, obtainable only from their own Publishing House on the L/H side of their building. Great value to scholars.
It is hard to get away from these excellent, polite people who, once they find you are interested in their language, become your friends for life. A memorable visit.

Om Santi Om.
