If you want to swim at the beach, then I would stay at mushroom bay, we stayed 3 nights in a villa last year at Chelegimbai, with kids 9 & 12 and Mushroom bay was the only beach we swam at, other beautiful places the rips were to strong risk swimming with kids. But compared to the rest of the island Mushroom beach is so full of tourist during the day it's weird, we walked around there from another bay and only met locals and not many of them, then to all of a sudden come upon this crazy, noisy, full on beach, with speed boats etc. was really strange, it felt like we had walked onto the set of some show!
Jungutbatu beach, I think that's were to the scoot boat comes in and all the hotels are along the headland ?, all the hotels here have a wonderful views, lots of them with pools you can sit in and look at the view, but not much good for swimming here, very shallow water and the locals seaweed farming and all their boats tied up, very lovely to look at. Also all these places have restaurants to eat at really nice.
If I went back I would stay on the headland at Jungutbatu much more interesting than mushroom bay, you can always walk around to mushroom bay for a swim about 30mins? really pretty walk along goat tracks and beaches, felt like kids exploring, walking around on Lembongan.
Cheers Deb.
