The Air Asia promotional price is 3 Ringgits, but they have added 8 Ringgits as an Admin Fee and I have decided to lash out and pay 9.99 Ringgits for 12 hours of air conditioning. Taxes amount to 1.35 Ringgits bringing the total to 22.34 Ringgits. I will use my own soap and towel thus saving a few Ringgits.
Looking at reviews of the hotel, it seems that the rooms are very small and have a shower but no TV, radio, wardrobe or window.
The last time I paid 3 Ringgits for a room in Malaysia was for a room in a fisherman's hut on the beach at Batu Ferrighi on Penang in 1975. I shared the room with a doctor from Queensland, so we paid 1.5 Ringgits each.
