4.I would just take the bare essentials in clothing, you didnt say the ages of children, but if they are young you can buy heaps for them. Do as other post suggests for the first couple of days go to one of the fixed price shops and get stuff from them. Then you will get an idea of prices and can then go to the places like Carefour, and Centro and Mataharies. (sorry about the spelling of these places)
5.Do a search of this forum to donate clothes. Smudge does a lot of good work over there so he would be a good one to donate to and you can make arrangements for him to pick stuff up on a certain date as i am sure his email address would be found on here by doing a search.
6.I only take cash and have my credit card for back up if needed.
7.Filo's pages are great.
My Tips:
1. Buy a wallet thing, that hangs around your neck, dont know what they are called. I found this great as it hangs around your neck and the purse bit hangs down under your blouse and you have your money safe and you have free hands. No bag ect. Great when your out shopping.
2. Get some mozzie repel with deet in it. We have Bushmans over here in Oz. Use also during day as apparently this is when the dengee fever mozzies are out and about.
3. If anyone gets sick dont be worried about going to BIMC hospital i have had to go there and had excellant treatment.
