We hired the bikes from the kodak shop near the entrance to Jayakarta,both bikes were brand new and petrol tank was full. It cost us 400,000 for two bikes including helmets for 8 days. We got them both in my husbands name, you fill out a form and have to supply your passport number, we had our passports back at the hotel so my husband just put 123456 down, they didnt know the difference and didnt ask any questions regarding the form. The registration of the motor bike is kept under the seat and he shows you this as he shows you how to use the bike. We had no problems at all with police as long as you wear your helmet.
