it's disapointing when you have expectations and visions of what you wish to have, only to find that it's not suitable.
Your idea sounds lovely, but just not practical.
I agree with the post further up if you have the room in your yard you can create a lovely balinese setting.
We have a 100sqm Gazebo with thatched roof (which the thatching does look great as an interior ceiling) and we used the wooden shingle tiles on the roof rather than the alang alang (grass) and have a balinese guest hut joined onto the gazebo along with balinese decor and gardens etc. It certainly gives you that balinese look. If you've got a creative flair you can work around the house and blend things in.
