Hi a friend of mine just rang up to have her phone unlocked and was told it was already unlocked. Telstra said that some phones are already unlocked. All you have to do is ring up and they will do it over the phone before you go. As for sim cards I go on global roaming as I have had problems with their sim cards. Try do a search on the forum as someone a few weeks ago was saying where to get the best sim cards good luck and will see you in Paradise Karen
