first timber furniture I purchased split and bowed. The second lot I really did my homework and the tried is to make sure you buy from someone who kiln dries the wood. That is all you need.

From memory, and do not quote me, but if it is not kiln dried it retains about 5% water, goes into the container and if it is summer you can imagine what happens. If it survives that then you have our winter and summers. I have had my furniture now for 6 years and it is still as good as the day I purchased it and I clean it with Mr Sheen. There are places in Bali that kiln dry wood. If you think you are paying a bit more than usual myabe it is because the wood has been kiln dried.
