This JBR is from my 6yr old son Thomas' diary he kept while we were in Bali for 12nts from the 14th April. Spelling has been changed however grammar etc remain as per the original.
14 April
We had to get up very early and go to the airport. And I really liked the food on Garuda. At Bali it was very very very very hot. Our hotel is called Adi Dharma. Our rooms are split up into 2 and I sleep with my sister and my mum sleeps with my Dad. Our room is right next to the big pool. The pool has a slide and when you get to the bottom of the slide it makes a big splash! At dinner my Mum's satays were on a ittle oven with real fire.
15 April
At Matahari I got a plane set. In the plane set there are trailers and boxes and planes too. There are stairs and a food truck and a buggy too. There is airconditioning in Mataharis. In the pool there are lots of noodles but I did not use them because I had my own. There is a very, very, very good bar in the pool because the chips and the chicken strips are the best I've ever tasted. Tonight we went to Secret Garden and I made friends with heaps of cats. The one that was pregnant we called Bubbles and the one that looked like my cat was called Charlie and the ginger one was called Ginger.
16 April
We went to Legian and in Legian we went to Debbies secret shop and I bought a watch and I also bought lots of clothes. And that night I got lots of DVDs. We got 66 and my favourite ones were Dora and Diego.
17 April
We got up early and went with Ketut and we went to the Safari Park and I got to hold a very, very, very BIG - Can you guess what it is? It is a snake! And I also touched a lion cub and an orangutan too. and I rode on an elephant for my 1st time. On the safari bus the zebra kicked the bus and then we went to play on the water park. We went on the merry go round and the cars and me and my sister were the only ones there and I got to go 2 times on the cars. At dinner in Kuta, the lady carried Daddy's large Bintang on her head and she didn't drop it.
18 April
Today I went to Mataharri again and I bought a fan and I bought a fix-it set. In the fix-it set there is a truck, a cement mixer and cement, sand and gravel too. There are signs, there's a light and there's people too.
Next we got Dunkin Doughnuts and I got a jam Doughnut. And then we went back to Adi Dharma and we had a long swim and we ate lunch at the bar. We went to the restaurant at Adi Dharma Cottages and we ate dinner there and poor Chloe was sick. I have a cat friend at Adi Dharma Cottages restaurant.
19 April
We went to the Bali Zoo and I saw a lion cub and it was hurt. I knew it was hurt because there was a red spot on it's head and a red patch on it's shoulder and it was tied up. I held a big, big, big, can you guess what it was? It was a python of course and I bought a shirt with my photo on it. And I saw a wild pig and it was smelly and I gave it a rambutan. I held 2 rabbits, one was an adult and one was a baby. and my Dad held an Iguanna. I saw a big fat Komodo Dragon.
20 April
We got up very early, the time was 7 o'clock and me and my Dad went for a short swim in the pool. I saw glass and barbed wire on the top of the wall and asked the cleaner what used to be in that swamp and what the tower was for. He said it used to be a prison a long time ago and he said a Komodo Dragon lived in it and the swamp looked like grass and I think there used to be dinosaurs in it.
We left the hotel with Ketut and he took us to the new hotel called Bali Rani. the rooms are very very small. There's 1 pool divided into 3 and I made a new friend called Nova. At dinner at Green Garden I went to the market and bought a guitar in the middle of dinner.
21 April
In the morning I went to the markets and I bought a basket made out of cane and it's got red net and more cane over the top. I also got an Eagles shirt and a headlight and when you press the button it doesn't flash and when you press it again it does flash.
We had a very long swim in the pool and we got lots of chips and the ketchup was in little bowls made out of banana leaves. Me and Dad got KFC for diner and Chloe and Mum stayed at home because Chloe was sick, and we took some back to them. I got 2 toys. At the pool I learnt breaststroke.
22 April
This morning we played in the pool for a long long long time. Then we went to a blue restuarant with fish. Then in the afternoon we went to Bread Talk and we bought some yummy pastries. That night we went to a restaurant called Bubba Gumps. There was a sign that said "Run Forrest Run"so they ran around the whole place, then we flicked the sign over and it said "stop forrest stop" and they came to your table and they stopped running and asked what you want. there was lots of shrimp.
23 April
This morning we went to the Crocodile Park and I saw lots of crocodiles and I saw lots of snakes too. I saw 2 iguannas. We think there were 200 crocodiles or maybe 100. and Ketut had a stick and he poked a very big one and it splashed me and my sister and my mum and my dad. I liked the 60 year old crocodile. We watched a show with cobras, crocodiles and even men with fire too. and a man chopped onion on another mans tummy with a sword.
And in the afternoon at Melasti markets I bought another pair of crocs but I didn't get any jibbets because we can transfer them. In the night there was a cat and it looked like my cat so I called it Charlie, but with an e because that was my cats name but mine didn't have an e. That night I bought a flashing yoyo with string and covers to repair it and all you need is that packet and string to repair it, and my Dad said "You beauty".
24 April
Today we went to Waterbom and we got a little cabana. We sat in our blue Cabana and then I went in the kid's pool and it had a big, big, big bucket and it was the size of 5 big Dad's. then I went on the rafting slide because you sit on a raft which is for 1 or 2 people and it is a tube. No, it wasn't scary, and a photographer took a photo of us and he took lots of pictures. Mum and Chloe went on the Macaroni and Mum went 'ah ah ah" and Chloe was going "eeeee". then I met Bomduck and he is a character and Chloe was scared of him.
25 April
This morning we went to Mataharris again and I bought play doh and then we went out for morning tea and me and my sister had a Smarty McFlurry. Then I went and bought 2 more jibbits for my crocs and this time I got a sunflower adn a doggy face. We came back to the hotel and I ordered a wood carving with my name on it and it;s brown and gold with varnish on the top. Tonight we had dinner at Bubba Gumps. Then we came back to the hotel and went to sleep.
26 April
