The bike ride was great. But the bike my 7 year old was riding was not! The only bike that was the right size for my son, the brakes did not work properly, they were very hard for little hands to squeeze on. The guides did try to fix them many times during the ride but it did not make any difference. My son would jump of the bike instead of trying to apply the brakes(much to my horror as it was mostly down hill). The only brake that did work a little was the one for the front wheel - not good, and it wasnt!
I tryed to always ride with my son, but at one point he got ahead of me, right at the top of a hill with a sharp right turn at the bottom with gravel on the road. You can imagine what happened next! So make sure if your children are small that they have a bike for them in good order. All the other bikes were in excellent condition. With saying this the 8 of us thought the ride was the highlight of our holiday, it was fantastic and we will be doing it again this Jan. I will make sure my son has a better bike this time.
