I know that they don't hand them out on the return night flights, as most kids go to sleep.
Last time going over in September my kids were given little magnetic type boad games, such as snakes and ladders etc. They were given to them after the movie finished.
Definately pack something of interest for the kids, even if they receive a novelty, it's only going to keep them amused for a short while.
