serous apology. All my indonesian friends just say 'tidak' in an extremely serious sounding voice. It's a cultural difference, 'cos to me, it would be really rude. Usually, I just smile and say, 'tidak, terimah kasih', or 'saya tidak mau', with a smile, but if they're a pain, tend to make it obvious. trouble is, they're just after their next meal, so I try hard never to get p'd off, cos I'd sure hate to walk a mile in their shoes.
