Last visit to Bali the boss and I decided to visit Glorys for dinner as the boss just luuurves their Long Island Tea
Well we were sitting their quietly sipping drinks, minding our own business, having ordered our meal. we were sitting at the front, near the open seafood selection which sits on ice.
Suddenly a huge rat poked its head out of a hole in the roof structure and looked down at the feast below. It ran down the pole holding the roof up and ran onto the large open seafood selection.
After carefully considering its options it chose a large prawn (probably the largest on offer), had a nibble, then ran back up the pole with the prawn and tried to pull the prawn back into the hole.
unfortunately for the rat, the hole was longish and narrow, the rat was trying to pull the widest part of the prawn through the narrowest part of the hole.
Meanwhile with my jaw hitting the floor and eyes like dinnerplates i called out for the waiter. He came over, i pointed at the hole, the rat and the prawn, and the waiter laughed and went back into the kitchen.
At this point we were about to tell the waiter to cancel our food orders (christ knows what adventures the food could have gone through before hitting our table!)
He came back out with a broomstick and proceeded to poke at the rat until it dropped the prawn.
The waiter then picked up the prawn from the floor and -wait for it.................
put it back on the seafood tray with the rest of the prawns.
Unfortunately for us our food came out just then, needless to say we didnt eat it just paid the bill and left.
I for one, would not eat at Glorys again.
