If you can find beaches with a near off-shore reef you can be fairly certain that they will be safe for swimming but they may not be 'good' in the sense that many Australian beaches are good - clean white sand, peace etc.
Try Tuban or Jimbaran or either side of the airport (although Jimbaran close to the airport runway might be polluted with off-cuts from the fish markets there), along the southern hotel strip of Nusa Dua, Padang Bai and Lovina are others.
