i bought a couple of surf items from the markets in sanur (didn't try kuta), they looked ok, but some looked a bit dodgy. they had a few nice ones for males\ mostly quiksilver n billabong. most ppl keep the stuff hidden away, but if u know someone in the markets then ask them about it n they will run around finding whatever u need.
my friend has a shop in sanur sindhu beach markets, n i just went to her shop and she ran around all the shops and brought in anything i wanted.
surf style clothes from markets are dearer than ur average bintang, hard rock t-shirt, but no more than about $10 aussie.
