You'll be fine, I have stayed at the Barong many times in the past, staff are great there and will look out for you.. all the night life is in walking distance so you dont have to worry about catching taxi's etc.. your sure to meet people!... only thing to look out for is the usual stuff you would look out for anywhere such as people buying you drinks (spking) etc... I'm there with a mate for the whole of June, but not staying at the Barong because it is the start of a 6 month backpacking trip thru asia so need something a little cheaper!.
