we had fun checking out all the money changes offering 500rp over everyone else but after being offered $200 worth of 10,000 and 20,000 notes or all the other tricks that left us laughing found the guy on the opposite side of the bali aussie in melasti really great. Good rate and he was really happy with a tip we gave him for honesty. Went back a few times. When you find someone honest and really appreciates a 10 or 20 thousand tip you can't go help going in when your walking past. I'm back again next March and will keep going back.
