A visit to Carefour by taxi from the BGH cost around 16000 rupiah .
Here we had a good look around and bought some shorts 49000 rph. some baby clothes for the grandchildren good range. Again good prices
The wife bought some Olay for about 90000rph. Apparently it is about $29aud at home. As we were getting around 8300 to 8400 to the dollar it was quite good value.
Had lunch at the food hall downstairs and the chapchay was really good and quite reasonably priced about 30000 rph each for lunch.
A taxi back to the BGH and another swim and more decisions on where to eat Dinner.
Uncle Norms in Melasti Street won the draw and so off we went. Cant for the life of me remember what we had but it was bloody good and the beer was cold and the Pina Colada's were just right. Walked off Dinner again by walking back to the BGH doesn't take long unless you have to stop and shop.
Next day was very nice up for a swim whilst the little Lady went for a shop (had to have her shopping fix before lunch). This was the day I became ill not Bali belly but still had to make a few calls on the porcelain telephone. Any way a trip to the chemist for some tablets and all was well again. The tablets were about 150000rph
For a pk of ten but they certainly worked wonders.
Monday we had our bike ride BALI-BAIK it was excellent we were picked up from the hotel at 7 am. And whisked off to UBUD to pick up another travelling thrillseeker from the TEGAL SARI what a nice Hotel and a definite one for a stay on our next trip for a few days.
Anyway back to the Bike ride. We had Bkfast looking over Kintamani and the lake so peaceful and quite. A really nice brekky with fresh fruit and toast and stuff and we were on our way.
We got to the start about 5 mins later and off we went it was so picturesque riding throught he rice paddies and the villages with the children running out for high fives and shouting hello! Hello! One of our intrepid travellers had a blow out but they just replaced the bike and we were on our way once again. Our guide was terrific explaining how the rice is grown and cultivated and how the water allocation works for each family growing the rice.
A couple of hills nothing to worry about though. Then when we finished we had lunch at Wayans Village what a feed all done by his very pregnant wife. At the moment he is bldg a restaurant at the back for later. This bike ride is run by Wayan and part of his proceeds he sponsors an English teacher for the local Village school.
After lunch it was good bye and back off to Kuta again and time for another swim and a cold Bintang. Anyway thats all a bit boring but I did warn you all.
