your friends are at the Puri Raja stay at the Maharta as it's next door. Under Austrian management ( Gorge)the place is well run.
Not that well designed - the bathroom is to big at the expense of the bedroom - but the place is good value for money - around USD45.
The staff have been around for years and the new restaurant on the beach unfortunately serves the same old food. Ok for brekky though. and they do a passablr burger.
Naturally it's not really clean - no hotels are as they only get the quick once over - never a spring-clean.
Last time we stayed there Mrs Rangatira, who believes that cleanliness is next to Godliness, took it upon herself to attack a patch of marble floor - it changed colour.
