I am going for 3 weeks in May and like Peedee, we dont feel safe in Northbridge or the city - even in some of the outer Perth suburbs a slightly concerning, however we feel completely safe in Bali.
There are travel warnings for most major western cities.
These terrorist are just trying to cause fear, and given the age of the footage and that its just been brought to light now, I recommend you not get overly concerned. Of course be vigillant, and also bear in mind Bali is mostly Hindu. The beautiful Balinese would not let thi kind of behaviour manifest in their wonderful island.
